Partners & Affiliates
In constant pursuit of excellence, CHNK Behavioral Health embraces growth and change on a daily basis. We do this by identifying best practices, establishing partnerships with a purpose, and giving voice to all individuals we serve.
Council on Accreditation
Accreditation is a process of review that allows organizations like CHNK Behavioral Health to demonstrate our ability to consistently meet regulatory requirements and standards of best practice. Accreditation signifies that an organization is effectively managing its resources and providing the best possible services.
Every four years, CHNK undergoes a rigorous accreditation process through the international Council on Accreditation (COA). COA accredits a full continuum of social and human services organizations. This includes more than 1,600 organizations and programs serving more than 7 million individuals and families. CHNK most recently completed the accreditation process in 2022.
The Sanctuary® Model
Sanctuary is a blueprint for clinical and organizational change which, at its core, promotes safety and recovery from adversity. This is done through the active creation of a trauma-responsive community. Sanctuary certification symbolizes an organization’s commitment to providing a higher level of care, a trauma-sensitive environment for the people it serves, and a better work environment for employees.
Sanctuary certification is a three-year process, with re-evaluation required every three years. CHNK Behavioral Health successfully completed the certification process in 2018, becoming the first behavioral health services organization in Kentucky to be certified in The Sanctuary Model.
All Children - All Families
The national Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s All Children – All Families program promotes LGBTQ cultural competency among child welfare professionals. Participating agencies work to meet ten key Benchmarks of LGBTQ Cultural Competency – from client non-discrimination policies and inclusive paperwork to staff training and creating an LGBTQ-inclusive environment.
In May 2016, CHNK Behavioral Health earned the foundation’s All Children—All Families seal of recognition for its commitment to supporting and serving LGBTQ youth, becoming the first provider in Kentucky to achieve this recognition. CHNK has successfully earned this recognition each consecutive year since 2016, most recently earning “Innovator” status – the highest level of certification available for organizations that provide culturally competent care of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth and families.
Ellequate Gender Equity Certification
Ellequate is an award-winning employer certification and cohort-based leadership program for intersectional workplace equity. CHNK is committed to addressing the root causes of inequality that impacts our forward momentum with diversity, equity, inclusion and access. When originally certified in 2018, CHNK was one of only two Northern Kentucky nonprofits awarded the certification which acknowledges empowerment of female associates and above average female representation in leadership position in the organization.
Face It® Movement
The Face It® Movement, conceived and created in 2012 as a response to the public outcry against the increasing number of child abuse deaths in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, officially launched in April 2013 as an initiative led by Kosair Charities. CHNK is proud to be a Face It Partner, helping to promote best practices in child abuse prevention and intervention and advocating for effective policies to improve the child welfare system.
